When you come to this session, you'll learn how this device can enable you to be more mobile, efficient, and increase student engagement. And while you're thinking about student engagement, we will spend time learning apps available to all NISD educators through the Mosyle app. Once we download our apps, we'll explore how Airsever allows your iPad to be mirrored. Once we master mirroring your iPad, we will start your Annotate journey to allow yourself to control your desktop from your iPad. We will put the tools you need for instruction at your fingertips: Kami, Seesaw, Pear Deck, the NISD Portal, and MORE! Want to dive deeper into Annotate? Experience 6th grade curriculum-embedded ADI labs firsthand during this interactive session. Gain insights into your students' perspectives as you participate in the labs, helping you better understand their needs and plan dynamic learning experiences.

Librarians will learn to identify user needs, to codify collection development policies and procedures, to select appropriate materials among the many possibilities, to acquire and make available these resources, to cooperate with other libraries, and to manage and evaluate their collections.

We will evaluate and apply the NISD Collection Development policy as a foundation for selecting materials for our school libraries.

In this session, we will learn how to support and encourage PreK students in learning through different play centers at the beginning of the year. We will also think about how can you make your planning intentional and your conversation in center purposeful.

We will meet to continue our discussion on the book Instructional Coaching: Seven Factors for Success.

Many classroom behaviors arise because students do not know how to self regulate. The Safe Place is a self regulation center used in classrooms all over the world. Many classrooms have a "calm corner" but do students know what to do when they get there? Do you find them using it for the wrong reasons like work avoidance? The Safe Place gives structure to your "calm corner" and teaches kids the research based steps to self regulation. Once students know the steps, they can use The Safe Place independently for self regulation. The Safe Place is not a one sized fits all either! It can be tailored to each classroom and setting. It is not just for Elementary! There are Safe Places in middle and high schools as well. Schools can even have a staff Safe Place! This session will teach about the steps to self regulation, how to teach those to students, and how to set up a Safe Place in your setting.  You will be provided with visuals and take aways to get started!

Session is based on book by Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Bruce Perry, MD, PhD. We will discuss how childhood trauma, even from a very young age can impact a student's progress and performance in the classroom, and how we can help students overcome and work to be successful inspite of the trauma they have lived through.
